2024 Workshop - The Priest at the Altar

Workshop presented by ‘The St. Bartholomew Institute of the Art of Liturgical Worship’

The Priest at the Altar:
Becoming alter Christus, ipse Christus

This three-day workshop is an opportunity to enter more deeply into the mystery of priestly life in the Church by contemplating the priest’s unique ministry at the Altar of God where Christ offers the perfect sacrifice of love. Each day will be centred upon the Church’s daily liturgical offering of prayer and praise to Almighty God, Morning and Evening Prayer, a sung celebration of the Mass and an hour of Eucharistic adoration. All will be designed to aid the priest’s inner spiritual development, the firm rock upon which all ministry in Christ’s Name finds its source and end. Workshops will be offered in the core areas of liturgical ministry, in the celebration of the Mass, in the liturgical year, in liturgical deportment, in reading and singing and in matters pertaining to the altar and its ornaments.
